What tasks have you particularly enjoyed in this seat?
I have done a number of verification exercises in Capital Markets and they are really not as daunting as people might think! I find verification a great way to get detailed insights into a company or fund's business, strategy and finances. You learn so much about different sectors and industries.
What have you learned in this seat that will help in your career?
Commercial awareness is one of the most important things I have learned in the Capital Markets team. Every legal point ties in with the commercial terms of a transaction and regulatory framework. It helps me see the bigger picture of transactions.
What are your top tips for other trainees to hit the ground running in this seat?
Be diligent and be resilient.
Always be prepared for unexpected surprises.
